COCKTAILS AND CUISINE AT THE EBELL
California cuisine is a fusion of elegance and edge. It’s the style of food that our wedding, club members and event guests crave. Cocktails and cuisine at The Ebell are uniquely Californian.
Decades ago, innovators like Alice Waters (Chez Panisse, Berkeley) and Wolfgang Puck (Ma Maison, Spago, Beverly Hills), ushered in a new level of appreciation for Californian cocktails and cuisine. That whisk has been passed to the two culinary masters who sizzle and swizzle at the Ebell: Executive Chef Tommy Bellissimo, and Bar Captain and Mixologist Alex Sierra.
Bellissimo and Sierra bring the vibrance and modern energy of the region to our stately, Spanish Colonial Revival venue with their in-house catering for weddings, business meetings, and other special events.
Two signatures define California cocktails and cuisine at The Ebell as interpreted by our dining- and-drinks duo: a sophisticated fusion of Latin, Asian and other ethnic foods, crafted with a daily selection of premium local, artisanal ingredients that are truly world-class in terms of variety, quality, and freshness.
Tuna poke and a Korean short-rib recipe are a favorite of Tommy Bellissimo’s for the Ebell’s wedding menus, a nod to the delectable influences of the Pacific Rim. Alex Sierra describes his mixology style as Mexico-meets-L.A., evident in his contemporary tequila and Mezcal drinks — crowd favorites. Another popular request is “Just Bee You,” Sierra’s riff on a Prohibition-era classic called “The Bee’s Knees.” His interpretation, like the original, melds gin, fresh lemon juice, and honey. The difference: Sierra’s is legal.
When it comes to cocktails and cuisine at the Ebell, we enjoy our tradition with a twist. Whether for nuptials or another special occasion, celebration is always on the menu with cocktails and cuisine that are thoughtful, witty, and a pleasure for even the most demanding palate.
